E-Wisdom.com has a great site to use for comparing credit card rates. What I liked the most was that it permitted you to search by features, as after rates, it becomes important what else the card does besides save your wallet some pain. See for yourself here.

How nervous are you when using your credit card online? According to a recent study, the majority of Americans are pretty confident that the security software available to them will protect them from credit card theft:

Online Shoppers More Confident In Web Buying

A large majority of online U.S. shoppers have some level of confidence that their security software protects them on the Web, a study released Thursday showed.

More than two out of three online adults surveyed by Harris Interactive reported that security concerns did not curtail their Web shopping, and 38 percent said they spent more online this year than last, said the Business Software Alliance, the industry trade group that commissioned the study.

Some consumers, however, were fearful of shopping on the Web. Fully 30 percent said security fears had made them shop less online or not at all during the last holiday season, BSA said. One in five online adults reported being “very concerned” or “extremely concerned” about Internet security during the season.

Scam Alert. Thieves Rob You Blind Without Asking For Card Number

There’s a new credit card scam and this time the thieves are fooling even the smartest of consumers because they don’t ask for you credit card number. Your phone rings and someone represents themselves as a security advisor working for your credit card company. They give you badge numbers and other official sounding information to make the call sound legit.

The thieves ask about any large purchases and then determines that someone is doing fraud on your credit cards. They ask you to confirm that you are the card holder by giving them the 3 digit cvv on the back of your card. That’s all that is needed for them to clean out your account.

You see the thieves already have your credit card number and usually to make purchases online, you need to enter that 3 digit security number to make that purchase. Experts say that you should never give out your information, especially if it’s from an unsolicited phone call.

Late Credit Card Payments Are Staying Sky High

A large majority of consumers who have credit cards are behind on very large bills. The blame is being laid on record high gas prices as well as the fact that the Federal Reserve increased interest rates 13 times in almost two years.
