Monopoly: Here and Now No Cash Just Credit Cards

July 26, 2006

Old time games aren’t what they use to be. The newest version of Monopoly titled Here and Now is doing away with cash and giving the game players the use of plastic. Credit cards that is. However this change is so far only in a new British version, but Hasbro is thinking about changing American versions as well.

Some other changes to the board game includes a raise in going completely around the board. Instead of the old 200, players now recieve 2 million pounds. The board has also gotten rid of some old addresses and added new ones such as Notting Hill where Julia Roberts filmed the movie of the same name. And oh yes, instead of winning money for winning a beauty pageant you will now win for winning a reality tv show.

The new name says it all. We are in the here and now and some old things do need to catch up. The game sounds interesting and even though I’m in the US I would definitely grab this on Ebay if I were to see it.

Credit Card Penny Scams

July 18, 2006

If you have a credit card make sure that you check your statement of course but pay attention to all amounts. Don’t just keep an eye in case a $300 bill comes your way. Watch for penny or small cents charges that you know nothing about and jump on it.

The reason? Credit card scammers especially from other countries will use a computer that will run numbers until it finally finds a good sequence of numbers. They will know it’s good because they will send out a charge for a penny or a few cents and when it goes through, they have your card and can now start charging like there is no tomorrow.

Credit Card Companies Give Sweeter Rewards

July 11, 2006

In a nation where most people own sometimes four or five credit cards, the big companies are looking for a way to reel you in and newcomers. Billions of credit card offers were mailed last year but only a few million were accepted, roughly 0.3%.

To increase this in the upcoming years, card companies are sweetening the reward offers. More than just cash back, some are offering to pay your mortgage, recieve gifts, and even enter a lottery. You recieve 1,000 lotto tickets for every $1,000 you spend.

However industry insiders say that this is just a way to get you to spend more money. More than you normally would have before. Think about it, if your in credit card debt, it’s going to be pointless trying to get gifts that you could have bought yourself and saved a few dollars along the way. Especially when you are trying to pay back a credit card bill

Perverts Lose Credit Card Priviledges

July 5, 2006

In the UK they are looking to pass laws that would help keep child predators off the internet. If someone is convicted or found to be viewing child pornography online, they could lose their credit cards forever.

The government is beginning to shop around I.D of the perves in which case the credit card companies could and probably will take action of banning them.

Applying For A Credit Card With Bad Credit

July 1, 2006

Are you aware that you should be careful when attempting to apply for a credit card when you have bad credit? You should try to get your credit cleaned up and wait a while before trying to get a card.

The problem is everytime you apply for a credit card and you are turned down, that goes on your credit report and brings your score down even lower than before. You do this a few times and all you are doing is pushing back how long you will have to wait even after you clean up your credit report.
