January 31, 2009

Credit cards are modern day devils which keep on pinching pockets, increasing our spending temptations and giving jolt to our monthly budget and the situation becomes even worse when you are forced to pay for the spendings you have never done at all some body else has hacked your details and done online shopping and made you a poor fellow. Credit card frauds are common now and frauds have developed enough techniques to cheat you and get your personal details. Mis selling has also been popular and you are sold many stuffs which you have never ordered for. Beware of these frauds.

How does it happen and what are the points you need to take care of to avoid credit card frauds.

Some times you must have received a call from Credit Card company asking for your details for verification. Never share your personal details, a genuine caller will himself tell you your details and will ask you to reconfirm where as a fraud caller will ask your details first. Your credit cad has three important details your credit card number, expiry date and last 3 digits on back side of the card and of course your mother’s maiden name and your date of birth which is not printed on your card. Avoid sharing these details.

When you apply for a credit card some times you are asked to give the photocopy of both the sides of your existing credit card, avoid giving such details.

Always prefer credit card with your photograph printed on it and do your signature on the backside. It prevents mis use in case of cad gets lost.

Avoid online shopping on less popular site or on the site you don’t know any thing.

overspending my credit card

January 16, 2009

I tried to eliminate two of credit card debt in the past half year. My plan was failed. I actually borrowed some $18,000 from a personal loan online to consolidate my debt. But my plan didn’t work out as I planned before. I kept using my credit card to pay for my reckless spending. At the result, I owed more debt than ever before. I deeply regret myself, why couldn’t I control my behavior to limit the debt increasing.

As before, I kept using my credit card to pay for my gasoline, my dining - out expense, and girls. I guess that I shouldn’t do all of these. Because at the end, I owed a huge amount of debt on my card. How could I ever pay them back. I merely make over a $1600 a month, and I need to save my money too. Today, my credit card bill came, and I owed a brand new high debt to $9800. Which I need to pay them off before the end of the 2009. That is my new year resolution. I cut out the credit card, and vow to not to use it ever again.

It’s a new year! Get out of debt!

January 7, 2009

With the new year upon us and everyone thinking about New Year’s Resolutions it is important to not only make resolutions that affect your health, such as losing weight or quitting smoking, but also create goals that will improve your finances. Especially, with the state the economy is in it is important to organize your financial life so that i something detrimental happens, such as losing a job, you are in a place in which you can deal with it.

While it is more important to set up, at the least, a three month emergency fund, it is also important to pay off your credit card debt. If you do lose your job and your credit cards are paid off then that creates one less bill you have to worry about paying (unless you have more than one credit card which means you will have even less bills to pay!)

While it is not a good idea financially, it is also possible that if you do lose your job and you have paid off your credit cards previously that you now have credit at your disposal if you need it.

Once you pay off your credit card debt, save the money you were putting towards your debt. This will allow you to build an extra emergency fund that can be used for big ticket items such as car repairs or major appliance replacements.

Start paying off your credit card debt today!

Credit card are like addictive drugs or medicine that if you over use or misuse, that will be the end of it. People once employed their’s a welcoming credit card that’s waiting. Some card you don’t have to apply for, they will simply send you the card. You will be surprise how the company get your information. They will call your house, your office phone and even your mobile phone. They know where you live and where you go to. They even start the conversation by congratulating you. Be as it may, you can fully utilize a credit card. A credit card should be use on certain situations. For example in case of emergency, for hospital bills or medicine. For food grocery or home supplies. It should never be use in something that isn’t a necessity and you know that in payment time that you would only pay the minimum. Some people don’t care about the finance charge, as long as they receive the plasma tv or the bluray. That they don’t know is they paying at least triple the price because of the finance charge. I have a lot of friends that is indebted to credit card. People who would wish they know better earlier. Credit card is a privilege that properly use will help everyone but misuse it and it will be yours to bear for a very long time.

Everyone uses credit cards these days and it has evolved as the primary mode of payment and transaction.Gone are the days when persons with good credit history received credit cards soon than those with bad credit history. However choosing the right type of credit card is not that simple.Several issues have to be taken into account .There are many categories of credit cards like low interest,no annual fee, cash back, airline rewards, gas rewards, students etc.All these cards serve the same function but they serve one section of people better than the others. For instance a businessman buying a student’s credit card doesn make sense as he will not enjoy the credit offers that a student gets. There are many other factors like credit limits, service charges, extra annual charges, etc. All these are very important as only realises only pretty late that one can’t pay them back after purchasing unlike the case with debit cards where one can’t be indebted at any time.
