February 9, 2010
Most of us are eager to get a credit card into our pockets when we become young and start earning. Shopping with a credit card can be a really thrilling experience if you are new to using credit cards. There are several issues that you should take into consideration before getting your credit card. Let us discuss some of the ways on getting your first credit card.
When your overall credit rating and credit report is good you might not find any problem in getting a credit card. The next step is to apply for a credit card with the bank or the credit card company. If you have a job or a business your bank will approve the application for credit card and after getting the card if you pay your credit card bills within the stipulated period the bank may even increase your credit card limit.
However when you apply for a credit card to a certain bank it is better to avoid applying for other credit cards at the same time as this may weaken your credit report and make you financially unstable. Carry out your own research carefully before applying for any type of credit cards. Some of the cards may provide you various offers and benefits during the introductory period say one or two years but after that they may charge a higher interest rate and high annual maintenance charge.
So it is better to give a second thought before selecting any credit card and act accordingly.
